The
Gymball for rehabilitation and fitness
Using a
gymball for strength and fitness may be a
relatively new concept, but it is not just another fitness fad. The ball
has been used extensively in rehabilitation for more than 30 years. The
idea of broadening its use from strictly medical rehabilitation device to a
mainstream fitness tool came about in the early 1990s. It is now extremely
popular in gyms, for personal training and for home programmes. Sporting
clubs and trainers recognise its value for injury prevention, sport-specific
training and improved athletic performance.
This is a training tool
that is here to stay!
Basic
gymball principles, combined with strength conditioning, provide an
exceptional workout, above and beyond other more expensive, cumbersome or
complicated routines and equipment.
Apart from the fabulous
physical benefits, here’s why you should train on the ball;
